Halo Reach-A Retrospective

Image
So after nearly a decade Halo finally got a PC release in the form of MCC collection on steam and windows store. The package contains Halo 1,2,3,ODST,Reach and 4 out of which Reach is currently available with rest being released in 2020. So looking at a game from 2010 now would be e good time to see how it stands up today. Presentation- Halo Reach's story stands as a prequel to the whole series and depicts the start of Human Covenant war.You take control of Noble Six the newest member of an elite team of spartans as they fight on Reach.Even though Reach has a cliche bare story its presented very well. All of the Nobles are well characterized and developed which makes an impact even when one of them dies .The cutscenes are also well directed showing you the scope of the battle and do a good job of setting a backdrop for the events. But what I adore the most is how the Covenant are depicted.Usually the Covenant are but a joke to Master Chief as the games showed him destroying...

Death Stranding Review - Hiking with the Dead

Image
Death Stranding is a game of walking and relaxing which might not be to everyone's taste but it certainly is worth checking out  Death Stranding is the first game by Hideo Kojima after leaving Konami and is currently available on PS4 and the PS4 Pro.The game is set in a post apocalyptic America and has Kojima's trademark dialogues full of exposition and focus on details. Presentation- Like I said above the game is set in America after a big explosion(i.e Death Stranding) joined the worlds of the dead and living. So now there are ghosts(i.e BTs) which roam the land and everyone lives in isolated cities or shelters. Our protagonist Sam Porter Bridges is a deliver guy who's job is to rebuild America by delivering stuff to these cities or shelters and connecting them to the chiral network. The story is very interesting and different something that only Kojima can write. The characters are well rounded and all the cast delivers an amazing performance even though...

Marvel’s Spiderman Review - The True Spidey Experience

Image
Marvel's Spiderman is a great PS4 game and an amazing super hero game but a few shoehorned in elements keep it from being perfect Marvel’s Spiderman released on the PS4 and Ps4 Pro is by far one of the best super hero games of all time, not only does it rival the Arkham series but also exceeds it, thus setting a new bar for super hero games. Presentation- On the base of it Spiderman’s version of New York looks- well- amazing (pun intended). The city is very lively, full of energy and doesn’t feel like just an empty world to serve as a commute between missions. As for the story, it is very well written and captures what Spiderman is all about by showing both Peter’s life as the wall-crawler as well as a citizen of New York trying to pay rent. The story starts with arrest of Kingpin which starts a whole chain of events as crime rate increases Peter finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy to kill the mayor. Gameplay- If there is one way to sum up the gamep...
